A Letter from the President
The primary mission of the Delaware Tennis Foundation (DTF) is to promote
the growth of tennis in Delaware by providing financial support for worthy
programs, from the Special Olympics to Delaware’s own Competitive Training
Center, where juniors are trained for tournament success. One of the largest
beneficiaries of the DTF’s annual grants is the Delaware Tennis Center,
based at Bellevue State Park. Despite the tireless work of the staff at
the Delaware Tennis Center, passholder dues, court fees and other revenues
derived at this majestic facility are not enough to cover the costs of
keeping the eight legendary hard-tru tennis courts in the proper condition
to handle the wear and tear from daily play and from mother nature. As
president of the DTF, I ask you to consider making a generous donation
so that we might continue to further our mission.
The DTF is able to offer a wide variety of tennis opportunities to players across our state only with the financial support of loyal friends like you who have contributed in past years. If you have any questions regarding the DTF or the programs it funds, please contact me at 302-656-8353 or Monique Holloway at 302-777-5610. Please consider the following contribution ranges as you make your tax-deductible donation.
Champion over $200
Finalist $100 - $199
Semi-finalist $75 - $99
Competitor $50 - $74
Benefactor $25 - $49
Contributor under $25
Checks should be payable to “Delaware Tennis Foundation” and mailed to the address above. On behalf of the board and the players we serve, thank you for your generosity and your continued support.
Sincerely,
Mark J. Manning

The Delaware Tennis Foundation (DTF) was founded in 1953 by three farsighted
tennis players. Brian Fields, William duPont, Jr., and Dutch Vosters.
For 50 years, your contributions have provided tennis lessons on public courts for children, summer jobs for developing players, beginner clinics for newcomers of all ages, and the means to host a wheelchair tennis tournament-right here in our community.
Formerly known as the Delaware Foundation for Physical Education, the board
voted recently to change the name to more clearly identify itself as a
foundation devoted to promoting the game of tennis. The DTF funds the many
tennis activities in Delaware. |
